What is Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)?

IBD is a group of chronic conditions that cause inflammation in the digestive tract, mainly Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. It affects digestion, nutrient absorption, and overall gut health.

Types of IBD

Crohn’s Disease: Can affect any part of the digestive tract (mouth to anus), often in patches
Ulcerative Colitis: Affects only the colon (large intestine) and rectum, with continuous inflammation

Common Symptoms

Abdominal pain and cramps
Chronic diarrhea (sometimes with blood)
Fatigue and weakness
Weight loss
Bloating and urgency to pass stool
