FAQ's

A high-risk pregnancy is one in which the mother or baby has a higher chance of developing health problems during pregnancy, childbirth, or after delivery. Factors such as pre-existing health conditions (like diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease), carrying multiples (twins or triplets), previous pregnancy complications, advanced maternal age, or lifestyle factors can increase the risk. Regular monitoring and specialized care are essential for high-risk pregnancies to ensure the best possible outcomes.

During a normal pregnancy check-up, your doctor will monitor the health of both you and your baby. This typically includes checking your blood pressure, weight, and urine, performing ultrasounds to check fetal growth and development, and measuring the baby’s heart rate. Blood tests may also be conducted to monitor hormone levels and detect any potential issues early. Your doctor will also address any concerns you may have and offer advice on maintaining a healthy pregnancy.

For a normal pregnancy, you should visit your doctor every 4 weeks during the first 28 weeks, every 2 weeks from 28 to 36 weeks, and weekly from 36 weeks until delivery. If you have a high-risk pregnancy, you may need to visit your doctor more frequently for additional monitoring, depending on your condition. Your doctor will customize your visit schedule to ensure both you and your baby are monitored closely throughout the pregnancy.
